Self Love and Progress Center
Mission
Founded by licensed psychologist, Dr. Robyn L. Gobin, The Self-Love and Progress Center is on a mission to help individuals improve their relationships with themselves and others. We do this by providing trauma informed and evidence-based mental health products and services, clinical consultation, mindfulness and self-compassion trainings, and self-care workshops.

Experience
Robyn's Expertise
Dr. Gobin: Dr. Gobin (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in interpersonal trauma and the culturally sensitive trauma recovery. She also has expertise in helping couples in distress find solutions to the relational challenges they face. Dr. Gobin’s approach to individual therapy is evidence-based and integrative. She incorporates various modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), relational, and mindfulness-based approaches to support growth and trauma recovery. Dr. Gobin draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy in her work with couples.

In both individual and couples therapy, Dr. Gobin prioritizes a holistic view of her clients. As such, she regularly assesses various aspects of clients’ cultural identities (e.g., military/Veteran status, gender identity, religious/spiritual orientation, sexual orientation, national origin, ability status, etc.), and integrates them into her conceptualization and treatment approach.
Dr. Gobin earned her Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon (APA-accredited program). She completed internship and post-doctoral training fellowships at the National Center for PTSD in Boston, Brown University, and the San Diego Veterans Health Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Wesleyan College. Dr. Gobin has worked with individuals and couples from all walks of life across a variety of settings including, Veteran Affairs hospitals, universitt counseling centers, community mental health centers, and private practice. A lifelong learner, Dr. Gobin regularly sharpens her skillset through trainings, coursework, and consultation.
